What we advocate for

Information integrity

The EFCSN advocates for information integrity by actively engaging in policy processes. This includes contributing independent findings to the implementation and oversight of the Digital Services Act. We also work to keep policymakers, platforms, and the public informed about emerging disinformation threats, helping shape effective, evidence-based responses that uphold democratic values.

Holding platforms and governments to account

Holding platforms and governments responsible for their commitments and responsibilities regarding disinformation is a key part of the EFCSN’s advocacy activities. The EFCSN is a signatory of the EU Code of Conduct on Disinformation. We also publish independent reports assessing how platforms enforce their own policies and commitments related to disinformation.

Freedom of expression

We work to promote freedom of expression through collective monitoring of misinformation and disinformation trends across Europe. When such trends emerge, we draw attention to them by providing clear, evidence-based information that empowers citizens and policymakers to make informed decisions. This work supports a healthy public debate without controlling or removing content.
