The EFCSN’s staff oversees the day-to-day operations of the organisation, moving organisations through our application process, implementing our projects, collaborating with partners, and coordinating the network of verified members, under the guidance of the Governance Body.

General Staff Members

Stephan Mündges

Coordinator

Stephan Mündges previously worked as the general manager of the Institute of Journalism at TU Dortmund University, Germany’s leading institute for university-based journalism education. He was also one of the coordinators of the German-Austrian Digital Media Observatory (GADMO) and was one of the hub representatives serving on the EDMO Executive Board. Before transitioning into academia, he worked for 12 years for the German public broadcaster ZDF, focusing on his reporting on digital policy, platform regulation and disinformation campaigns. Stephan has also worked as an external assessor for the IFCN.

Samantha Lee

Communications Manager

Samantha Lee’s experience is primarily in marketing and communications for nonprofit organisations. She previously led the online marketing team at a digital agency specialising in nonprofits, guiding nonprofits’ digital strategy. Prior to this, she wrote for a newsletter reporting on issues in Latin America for policymakers and worked in client services for a nonprofit immigration law firm. She studied International Studies, Spanish and Journalism, and is passionate about climate action and sustainability.

Elira Çanga

Project Manager for Fact-Checking Incubator

Elira Çanga is a journalist, media trainer and communication professional from Albania. She has 20 years of experience divided between active journalism, media development and communication for international organisations. Her career encompasses the journalistic work for Albanian news agencies and TV channels, radio journalism and producing, e.g. for the BBC as well as working for different international organisations aimed at modernising the public service media in her country and guiding the establishment of the first Albanian fact-checking service.

As a communication professional she worked closely with organisations as UNICEF, World Bank and World Health Organisation into building their communications strategies and ensuring high visibility of various much needed projects and initiatives of these organisations into making a difference in Albania.

Jakub Śliż

Project Manager for Elections24Check

Jakub Śliż is the founder and president of Pravda, a fact-checking and media literacy organisation from Poland. With a background that spans the public sector and international startups, Jakub has worked as a project manager and data engineer, bringing a wealth of experience to his initiatives in promoting media literacy and factual accuracy while utilising the newest technological tools.

Tori Zopf

Project Manager for Climate Facts Europe

Tori Zopf is a freelance program manager with broad experience in the international tech sector. Most recently, she worked at Meta as a program manager of trust & safety operations for Facebook and Instagram. She studied politics and economics, and is interested in digital policy, media/information literacy, and climate action.
