The European Fact-Checking Standards Network (EFCSN) is currently seeking a dedicated Junior Grant & Admin Officer. If you are a structured, meticulous person experienced with EU funding mechanisms who wants to work towards a healthier information space, this is the right job for you. 

  • Status: Full-time.
  • Duration: Initially limited until August 2028.
  • Start at earliest convenience.
  • Location: Remote-only (anywhere in Europe).

Responsibilities

  • Support management of the grantmaking process, from checking eligibility of applications to final reporting.
  • Act as a point of contact for grantees, providing guidance on compliance and administrative requirements.
  • Monitor the implementation of funded projects during the grant period to ensure deliverables are met.
  • Review and validate financial and narrative reports submitted by grantees.
  • Support daily financial operations by processing invoices, tracking expenses, and preparing payment runs for approval.
  • Assist in gathering and organizing documentation for audits, notifications to authorities or correspondence with funders.
  • Maintain and update internal databases to ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Assist in organizing occasional virtual or in-person team meetings.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in grant administration or administrative support, preferably within an EU-funded context.
  • Strong understanding of financial management, compliance, and reporting procedures.
  • Considerate manner of working with an eye for details.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel or Google Sheets) and comfort with cloud-based collaboration tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Slack, Asana).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Fluent in English – both speaking and writing, knowledge of French is a plus.

  • The position is full-time.
  • Remote Working: The EFCSN is a remote-only organisation, allowing for work from anywhere in Europe.
  • Working Language: English.

  • Interviews will be conducted via video call.
  • The salary will be negotiated between the applicant and the EFCSN.
