After three successful application rounds in 2023, the European Fact-Checking Standards Network (EFCSN) currently consists of 31 verified organisations from all across Europe with almost 20 fact-checking organisations currently under assessment.

European fact-checking organisations wishing to join the EFCSN can submit their applications from January 1, 2024 until January 31, midnight.

Verified members will be able to display an EFCSN badge on their websites, sending a sign to readers of their independence and integrity, while also gaining access to a network that offers opportunities for collaboration among fact-checkers, training sessions, and working collectively to hold policymakers and online platforms to account in the fight against misinformation.

Full details on how to prepare and apply can be found here.

The EFCSN is an association of fact-checking organisations committed to the highest standards of independence, transparency, and journalistic quality outlined in the European Code of Standards for Independent Fact-Checking Organisations. In order to join the network, fact-checking organisations must comply with all the requirements established in the European Code, which was published in September 2022.
