FACTEUR

Strengthening Fact-Checking and  European Information Integrity

Empowering the fact-checking community through protection, technology, and sustainable funding.

The Core Pillars

Fact-Checkers Protection Scheme

Comprehensive protection for fact-checkers under threat — including legal aid, cybersecurity support, psychological care, and emergency relocation — delivered through a secure platform with dedicated training and an early warning system.

Fact-checking Repository

The first comprehensive, permanent, pan-European fact-check repository: 25,000+ articles enriched with AI-powered metadata, multilingual search, and automated trend analysis — feeding insights to researchers, fact-checkers and institutions around Europe.

Emergency Response Capacity

A crisis response framework for disinformation emergencies — built around a taxonomy of predictable and unpredictable crises, rapid-response microgrants, a best-practices guidebook, and cross-border coordination tools.

European Fact-Check Fund

The largest dedicated fund for European fact-checkers — distributing the majority of the project’s (more than 60%) grant budget through three distinct grant programs to organisations across 36 eligible countries.
