Announcing the Second Round of Grants for Platform Accountability in Europe

By 29/06/2026No Comments2 min read

We are pleased to announce the opening of the second round of the Tech Accountability Call, supporting projects in investigating and studying the digital platforms that shape Europe’s information spaces.

Holding digital platforms and powerful gatekeepers of information to account remains essential to safeguarding the integrity of Europe’s information ecosystem. Building on the momentum of the first round, this call once again invites EFCSN members to scrutinise social media platforms, video platforms, search engines, widely used AI models, services and products, as well as platforms that often receive limited scrutiny despite being used by malign actors to spread false or misleading information.

Investigations and studies should focus on these platforms’ role in the production, spread, and/or amplification of dis- and misinformation, including assessments of their compliance with existing regulatory frameworks and self-regulatory commitments. By spotlighting concrete examples and identifying areas for improvement, the EFCSN seeks to support evidence-based policy development and enhance public awareness of the systemic risks posed by disinformation.
